Description

GyPSy Guide GPS driving tour of both Arches and Canyonlands is an excellent way to enjoy a sightseeing trip to explore the national parks. One tour that includes both parks. There are 140+ audio points that play automatically, featuring what to see, stories, tips and advice. All the benefits of a guided tour, the freedom to drive yourself. TOUR GUIDE AS YOU DRIVE AROUND ARCHES AND CANYONLANDS If you like driving yourself when you go sightseeing, GyPSy Guide™ tour apps allow you to enjoy a guided tour experience while remaining totally independent. By driving yourself, you'll be able to get from place to place faster, see more things and not be tied to anyone else's schedule. DON'T MISS OUT ON THE BEST SIGHTS AND STORIES The tour apps use your device’s location abilities to play the commentary AUTOMATICALLY. All you have to do is drive, listen and decide which places you want to stop at. Our tour guides have created an insightful and entertaining tour of Arches and Canyonlands National Parks, all in one tour. PLAYS AUTOMATICALLY GyPSy Guide knows where you are and which direction you are heading, and plays commentary automatically about the things you are seeing, plus stories and tips and advice. EXPLORE LIKE A LOCAL It’s just like having a local friend to show you around. And that friend just happens to be a professional tour guide. GREAT VALUE The same information you would get on a bus tour or from a guide book, for just a fraction of the price. And you control the itinerary and schedule. WORKS OFFLINE No data, cellular or even wireless network connection needed while touring. Download over Wi-Fi before you tour. Anyone can use them with no need for roaming data – even visiting from another country. DRIVING TOUR ROUTE Arches National Park: There are more than 2000 rock arches and countless numbers of other startling rock formations in this park. Each of the suggested stops along the route provide another piece of the puzzle of this stunning natural phenomenon. 1) Park Avenue 2) Balanced Rock 3) Windows 4) Delicate Arch 5) Skyline Arch 6) Devils Garden 7) Landscape Arch Canyonlands National Park: Includes some famous arch formations like its sister Park across the valley. But there is a great variety of different features to explore in Canyonlands. The Island in the Sky portion of the Park sits on a high plateau above deep canyons below meaning there are many spectacular viewpoints. 1) Merrimac and Monitor 2) Mesa Arch 3) Grand View Point 4) Green River Overlook 5) Upheaval Dome 6) Aztec Butte You can join the tour from Moab or anywhere along the route from campgrounds and RV parks. ## This tour does not include the Needles section, which is located 60 miles to the south. NOTES Download the app on Wi-Fi from your network at home or use any free Wi-Fi network. Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks may block the download because of size - so its important to download over a Wi-Fi network. ++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger. This is much better than simply plugging into the USB port in a vehicle. ** iPad users - please note that WiFi-only iPads will not activate the commentary automatically. Any iPhone or network-capable iPad (WiFi + Cellular - whether you have a network connection or not) will work just fine. ABOUT US GyPSy Guide™ produce award winning audio tours along scenic drives around the world. Enjoyed by travelers who prefer to set their own pace and itinerary on vacation, but enjoy a fun, informative and educational guided experience. Our goal is to provide a great introduction to the region and perhaps inspire you to learn more and return. None of our apps include paid advertising or placements for benefit.

Perfect blend of facts and humor. Used for Arches day one and looking forward to using it at Canyonlands for day 2.

Just love this app. We've used the Maui and Yellowstone apps and now we're headed into Moab and we have our trusty guide with us. He gives just enough info to keep you interested but doesn't talk too much where he interferes with the experience. Has some humor, offers advice and some interesting facts. Well worth the minor investment! Just make sure you have a charger for your phone!!

Loved hearing all the fun facts as we drove. Only thing I'd add would be info on which stops had bathrooms or picnic tables. Please keep making guides for other Utah parks :)
  • Great travel app

I hope they keep adding places. The narratives are very informative, not stupid or corny, and took us to spots we never would have gone to. One of the best apps ever.
  • Great app!

Very easy and convenient. I love how the GPS tied in with the program as we were driving. I can't wait to use another one of these next trip.

It worked great. Wish it would communicate which trails were accessible by a power chair.
  • Wow, great app

Highly recommended! We found this app (the combo including Arches and Canyonlands-Island in the Sky) to be very useful on our recent visit to these 2 national parks. It pointed out key sights, where to stop (if your schedule allows it), and where relevant, the history behind features or places. If you appreciate getting this kind of info as you tour the parks, then the app is a worthwhile investment. We also appreciated the history of key figures presented on the ride backs from the parks. The only glitch was occasionally the audio didn't auto play, but as I was watching the app closely to see when we were coming up on a presentation, I was able to start them before we'd gone too far past the info arrow. (I'm a native English speaker, but my suggestion to the app developers is to hire good Chinese, German, and Japanese translators first, and offer this service to the many international visitors to the parks. I also heard a lot of French speakers too!).

Used this app for Arches & Canyonland National Parks it was awesome! It gave background info so you knew something about the park before you got there. Then shared additional info as you approached each viewpoint. It was like taking a ranger with you to tell you about the park!
