Description

A NEW WAY TO USE INTEGRATED DEVICES The updated Alexa App Smart Home section lets you view the state and control your smart lights, locks and thermostats. When you are on-the go, use the app to quickly check the status of your lock or turn off your lights. You can also navigate to the device’s settings page to rename the device or disable it. The new Multi-Room Music section allows users to designate a group for devices on the same Wi-Fi network. Once created, group names can be used to control music playback. The new Routines section allows users to automate a series of Smart Home and audio actions with one custom command. The new capabilities are available to customers with iPhones on iOS 9.0 or later. CONNECT WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS With the Alexa App, you can call and message Amazon Echo device owners and anyone else with the Alexa App on their phones. When you’re away from home, use the app to make a quick call or send a message to your family’s Echo. Use Drop In to instantly connect with your devices for a call. For example, you can drop in to let the family know it’s time for dinner or check in on the baby’s nursery. ALWAYS READY, CONNECTED, AND FAST For Alexa device owners, the free Amazon Alexa App is a companion to your Alexa device for setup, remote control, and enhanced features. Alexa is always ready to play your favorite music, provide weather and news updates, answer questions, create lists, and much more. Alexa's brain is in the cloud, so she continually learns and adds more functionality over time. The more you use Alexa, the more she adapts to your speech patterns, vocabulary, and personal preferences. HOW IT WORKS Interactions with devices with Alexa are automatically mirrored visually on your Amazon Alexa App, providing more information as you want it. The Amazon Alexa App lets you easily manage your alarms, music, shopping lists, and more -- wherever you are. FAST WI-FI and EASY SET UP Connect to your home's Wi-Fi network using the free Amazon Alexa App, with its simple guided setup. Now you can stream all of your music, listen to radio stations, and have access to news and information, all by voice -- or with the Amazon Alexa App's intuitive interface. Communications features like calling and messaging are only available in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, and Austria

I love this app but it bothers me that I can’t remove all my cards at once. I have to go through the whole thing to remove all the cards. I think it is very annoying. Please fix.

Trouble constantly syncing with WiFi and it does not just use blue tooth anywhere! You must have a WiFi connection Bluetooth is useless!!! I’ve tried using this with the Bose I purchased most of the time that doesn’t even work! WHAT A WASTE OF MY TIME AND MONEY!!! This whole thing is so restrictive that I just don’t even use it “AFTER SPENDING SO MUCH” this has to be corrected! I want a total refund!!! Very Seriously! What a hassle! What a hassle to have to return it because it’s useless!

Terrible. Glitchy, crashes often, drop in functionality doesn’t work, can’t connect to Amazon Music.
  • Slow communication with other Clouds

I have ewe-Link automation devices in all my house, when I use the ewe- Link app to control them it is easy and fast but when I use Alexa (Amazon Alexa with echo Dot) Alexa understands the command and send it from Amazon-Alexa’s Cloud to ewe’s Cloud (accounts previously linked accordingly) sometimes Alexa respond: The server is not responding, after that sometimes it takes more than 3 minutes to turn on or turn off a device or sometimes it does not do anything to complete the action. In the other side, sometimes (not very frequent) I have very good experiences (fast response with Alexa and ewe-Link clouds) and I can do whatever I want smoothly with no delays, that makes me believe it is a communication problem between clouds. We hope developers take action to fix this issue. Also I want to say with Spotify it works very well always so far.

App is slow and keeps crashing. Cannot get my echo plus back online and it’s not remembering my network. Crashes every time I open the settings tab.
  • LIsts? --- Forget about it

When I'm at the store or at a coffeehouse, Lists will not open even thought I am connected to the internet with full bars. Alexa is great at home, but when I try to use the app on my iPad to view my Lists, Alexa is useless.
  • App keeps getting worse

It won’t display what is playing anymore, nor can volume be adjusted. It often plays one song from Pandora and abruptly stops playing the station. Please improve this app! As it is, it has become useless.

I just got an Alexa as a gift and tried to set it up. I downloaded the app and signed in and now it is a blank white screen. I have tried closing and opening the app many times but it does not work.
  • Love it, but it has room to grow.

I give 5 stars because I love my Alexa devices, but feel the "Routines" feature has a lot of room for growth. So far, I've been happy with what it can do and have had a little fun playing with it. I like walking into my office in the morning and saying "Alexa, time to get to work" and having all my lights turn on, followed by news and sports updates. Admittedly, my gripe comes from the app's lack of imagination. I envision being able to change the color/dimming of the lighting, and having the option to trigger a particular song/artist/genre of music to begin playing. My sick, twisted mind hypothesized a scenario where I say "Alexa, it's business time" and the lights dim, change color, and Flight of the Concords starts playing. Just seems like it could be a lot of fun!

Wasted past 2 hours trying to set up my brand new Alexa. The app is incredibly slow and will not connect with my wi-fi. Very disappointing.
