I’m an adult trying to Spanish. This app is awesome and helps you learn Spanish quickly. Great for someone who doesn’t have time to take a Spanish course. This app allows you to set daily goals that make you want to come back for more. I love this app and I am now going to install it on my children’s tablets.

  • Excellent Product Hidden Costs

I can’t imagine a better program for learning Spanish. I love doing the lessons and watching my improvement so much I paid $89.99 for the yearly subscription. The program itself is a five star program. However, after paying the subscription you have to buy “health” (whatever that is) to continue, and it is always in the middle of a lesson which is annoying. I have to spend more money to continue the lesson I thought my money had already covered. I would pay additional money to avoid the annoyance but I shouldn’t have too. I will continue the lessons and paying the extortion money to finish the lessons, but it drops their rating all the way to two.
  • Far better than expected

I️ managed to learn more Spanish from this app in a week than I️ did in 2 semesters of Spanish in high school
  • Easy way to learn a language!

Our whole family uses Duolingo! Our 7th grader is using it to help with his Spanish at school and our daughter is traveling to France for a semester abroad and is brushing up on her French with it. We did a family trip to Germany and being half German I used it to refresh my German so I could speak with older relatives while there. My husband got curious and now uses it for Spanish! We love the reminders every day. They are quick and easy and you can do them anywhere. You pick the pace to learn by as well.
  • Great language app for free

Really like the small lessons and don’t mind the ads because I’ve discovered other useful apps for travel. However it’s difficult to move along to a higher leve. I’m having to look up how to retest and move to my actual level. So if you are intermediate or advanced and just rusty, take care on your initial test not to make beginner mistakes!
  • One of the Best App But Has Flaws

    By Zabiery
I have always been interested in languages. The summer of 2017 was great because I got my IPhone! So I immediately searched for a language app. Most of them were free, but I downloaded it and they either said I had to have a Facebook account or pay!! But Duolingo was different... You can pay, but only for minor things like characters staring into your soul, smiling, and no ads. Otherwise, it was free! I made my account and I immediately clicked on Spanish. I worked super hard to earn the trophy for completing the Spanish tree, but then it updated and I was sent back to the beginning, I didn’t mind. It was when you reorganized the courses. So I made my way back and learned a lot of words... Until that day... My phone automatically updates something, which I don’t like. I went to bed and when I woke up, it kicked me out!!! I had to sign in to my computer account and now I have to start all over!!!! Now I don’t want to do Duolingo anymore because I know that when I get far, it’ll kick me back... It’s not even worth it... They also have really weird sentences such as ”He has a big sack” and ”The cat drinks wine and milk” which is very weird. And some words don’t even make grammatical sense! For example, orange juice is jugo de naranja. De means doesn’t mean on like it says, but it means of. These incorrect sentences will confuse everybody. I also need more details on grammar, letters, and pronunciation, cause those are really confusing. It’s good app but I don’t even know if it’s worth it anymore...
  • Needs more work

The app is ok but regarding the health i am loosing most of them for translating “they are” instead of “those are” and this is NOT OK
