  • Needs a lot of features...

    Needs Auto Correction and Capitilization BIG TIME. Allow for the THEMES used in the mobile app to be used in the desktop version. Allow for the window to be resized any which way, including narrowing the contacts column to just show the icon of the contact. The contacts column just takes up too much space. Signing in with password/Sign in automatically needs to remember better. If this app adds these things and just continues to receive updates I’m pretty certain it’ll be one of the best.
  • No Way to Retrieve Account Information

    I use(d) LINE. I had an account in Japan, but once I switched devices from an Android to an iPhone, I was unable to transfer the account because the account was set up in Japan. That forced me to create a new account. So I did, and connected it to Facebook without having to add any of my personal information. I moved back to Japan and was forced to ‘identify’ my account with my carrier despite it being an American phone with an account made in America. For whatever reason, after returning to America, when I upgraded my iPhone from the 6S Plus to the 8 Plus, the App forced me to “verify” my account through Facebook. Low and behold, again, LINE “can’t” identify or confirm my account despite the fact that the account is currently linked to my facebook account and my friends can still see my account on their contacts. Contacting LINE support is moot. Automated replies and no real dedication to solving the issue. Once they sent me a Facebook verification link and it “verified” my account, they reply back with: Unfortunately, we cannot identify your LINE account with the phone number or email you provided. Please understand that we will not be able to offer any further support if we cannot identify your LINE account. If you can confirm any other registered information, please contact us again. We will look into the issue as soon as we receive your feedback. We apologize for falling short of your expectations on this occasion, and appreciate your understanding. —— LINE has always had a dumb security system to using the application. In Japan, it forces you to identify with your carrier so the account is non-transferable if you switch carriers or change numbers. In America, since they forego that security with the Facebook option, if you try to transfer your account it’ll break again. With the inability to reset passwords or have account information sent instanteously makes LINE an annoying app to use. The one device restriction coupled with the lack luster English customer service makes me not want to use this app at all. Four days and they can’t even find an account that obviously exists? Shame. I’m never using this app again.
  • Not getting messages on my Mac

    Messages my friends send my are always showing up on my phone but the Line application on my Macbook has trouble keeping up. There are many times where I have to go back to my phone and check because messages and notifications are not showing up on my Mac. Why is it not updating anymore?

    :( This verification, security system needs help. I love the app, perfect for keeping in touch with friends from other countries if you are studying abraod or something. I have all of my conversations and contacts from different countries on my account. When something happened to my phone and I was and am still unable to use it, the app won’t let me access any of my contact or chat information. If I want to use it on another device I need to verify it on that broken phone :(. It would be nice if when we verify through facebook we could keep all of our contacts and conversations, that information is the only reason I have Line and I don’t want all of my information to be deleted if I log in to the app on another device. The security system is really ridiculous, if you can verify through facebook you should really be able to keep your contacts you have gathered over the years and chats. :(
  • Force update is terrible

    This new force update function is terrible, I couldn’t log in before I update to the newest version, and the new version isn’t at all better! It is a total waste of time and I have to say, forcing customers to update is a really inappropriate action.

    I can’t login to the new version on the Mac, so I’ve been trying to update the app for weeks, but IT WON’T UPDATE. And I can’t figure out how to uninstall it either, so it’s just taking up space on my computer. So annoying.
  • Update made Line quit working!

    It was working before I absent-mindedly clicked update when the option arose. Now it is in a loop, telling me to upgrade to a new version but then not letting the application open. Help! I use this to talk to my son in Japan and text as well. I miss it and wish it worked on my Mac. (It works still on my iPhone, thank goodness.)
  • DO NOT TRY THIS UPGRADE on Mac OS 10.13.2 (High Sierra)!

    This so-called Upgrade does not work on High Sierra! If you click ‘Upgrade’, no upgrade occurs and you will be frozen out of LINE.
  • Cannot log in

    I am unable the download the current version and I keep receiving an error message saying that the item is unavailable. Since I cannot download it, I cannot log in.
  • Can’t even open

    I love LINE. It’s my main chat app to communicate with friends abroad, but today I can’t even open the desktop version because of it telling me to update it. Once I click update, it closes out the app and brings me to the app store to update, yet there is no update. When I try to open the app again it does the same thing and I’m stuck in a circle. Just let me update it!
