  • Plans keep disappearing

    By Hadrtekelllpf
The maps are detailed and great, but every time I plan a day all my plans for other days disappear. My hotel keeps disappearing in the middle of planning, too.

Great app directions, things to do. Allows you to manage your trip
  • Used to be fabulous

I loved this app and referred it non-stop to my traveling friends. I was also happy to upgrade - money well spent. I tried numerous itinerary planning apps and Sygic beat them all hands down. Unfortunately Sygic has now moved to being primarily a map application with frustratingly difficult itinerary planning. I have to plan my itinerary on their "legacy" website on my computer and then I can see it on my phone. It is extremely difficult to do any detailed planning on my phone now. The previous app version also exceeded the computer version with its ease and custom-ability. Changing from the #1 trip planning app niche into trying to compete with all the other huge map developers was a bad decision.
  • What happened??

    By mcompton18
My husband and I used this app in England and the Netherlands in March of 2017 and didn’t think twice about using it again this year when we went to Spain. We downloaded all the maps ahead of time, expecting to have the same wonderful experience as the last time, only to be immediately and sorely disappointed. Roughly 7 times out of 10, the app would say “Error during navigation” or “Navigation unavailable at this time,” and the rest of the time the app would just crash. What happened? This app saved our lives the last time we used it and now I feel horrible for ever having recommended it to anyone because it’s completely useless. Will absolutely be deleting this app and never using it again.
  • I love it but

I love this app but the old planner is way better and user friendly, I found the old planner on the website but how do I change it back on my phone? I don’t like this new version at all, please help me get the one before the update!
  • Great app

This is a really great app to know any city and dont miss anything
  • Miss old app

The new app is more difficult to use. Went from being a good travel tool to almost useless. Wish I could get my money back.
  • I really wanted this app to work

Worse 10$ I’ve ever spent in my entire life. This app is pure garbage. You can’t just download a map and use it, you need to mark your entire schedule and plans on it, but wait. WHAT IF I DONT HAVE A PLAN and just would like to see the map? Forget about it. This is not the map for that! I WANT MY MONEY BACK!
  • A formerly excellent app is not very good after upgrade

I have used Sygic travel for several years on many trips. It generally worked very well (save for a few quirks in searching for addresses). It was easy to use and was every helpful in figuring out how to drop things into different dates to minimize time spent going between locations. Then came version 5. I want version 4 back. To save time, let me summarize how the interface was destroyed and how it is almost too much work to use for a trip of more than a day or two (I previously used it for 8-12 day trips with ease.) 1. Previously, adding a new site to visit, required tapping a plus button on the day and searching. Now, you must go to the map, make sure it is over the location or city you wish to search in (and sufficiently zoomed in) then either try to search, or choose from categories with rather random inclusions (e.g., ‘Latin Quarter is not a restaurant in Paris; why is it under restaurants?). After you choose a place, you must tap add to trip, then you get a mini date strip. No indication of what is on any date. No indication of which date is best to minimize travel time. 2. Moving an item to a different date. Previously, this was done with dragging and dropping. Not anymore, now you click for a pop up menu, select edit schedule (?!), then get the annoying one week strip of dates with no indication of what happens on each day or which date has decent transit times with other things listed. 3. Deleting from a date now requires tapping to get a pop up then tapping remove. No more swipe. 4. It doesn’t rotate for landscape mode on the iPhone 5. There is no way of seeing an overview of the trip. In the previous version you could see a week at a time and what was on each day, and simply drag sites to a different date. No more. You can only see one day at a time and it is not straightforward to move a site to a different day. 6. The search feature is almost useless. For example, searching for CDG brings up the car rental return and two of the terminals. Searching for Charles de Gaulle brings up locations in various cities, but not France’s largest airport. Searching for airport brings up a few hotels at CDG, but ironically not the the airport itself. On the plus side, the support team is pretty responsive and very nice. That seems to have continued despite the changes in the app. Hopefully they can fix all this rapidly so that it is again a 5 star app. Can we please have the old one back as an option until v5 is fixed?
  • Best I've found, but not great.

I tried TripIt, but I couldn't figure anything out. Google Trips was pretty good for finding info, but I couldn't share or get maps. I like Sygic's map feature with the little pictures to click on (but some pictures don't match the place). I'm able to share my trip with family, and that is great. I also like the mode of transportation option. However, if you are looking for a specific place and don't have the EXACT name that Sygic has it listed, it's difficult to find. I wish it was linked to a search engine that could help decider what I meant. For instance, I could not find Hotel Moderno on the Puerta del Sol in Madrid even when I put in street address. (Lots of others popped up from different places). I finally found it when I clicked on "accommodations" and it was listed as just "Moderno" Or looking for the Ratoncito Perez museum, I looked up Ratoncito Perez, but couldn't find it until I put the official name Casa Museo del Ratón Pérez. I paid the fee for premium, but the info isn't stellar, just ok. So I'm not getting rid of my Google Trips app just yet. I still think the sale price for the app was worth it, I do like the map and sharing feature.
