I was very excited to get this app. I live in the middle of the Midwest in a college town, and didn’t know if there were any vegan options near me. Looking at the list on the app, I was pleased to see quite a few options, and I had hope. But as I started making plans with friends and them asking the age old question of “can you eat here?” I found the app almost no help. So many restaurants in my area have vegan options or are vegan friendly, but aren’t listed in the search results. I tried to add one of them, and was discouraged by how big of a pain it is to add a place. I’m all for being thorough when listing restaurants, but you have to add every single menu item that is or could be made vegan, as well as answer way too many questions about willingness to accommodate. All of this is to say that I paid for an app I don’t use because the list of vegan restaurants is outdated. Pretty disappointed.

I became vegan about 2.5 months ago and since I’m a teacher home for the summer it hasn’t been too hard. However, I knew I needed to find some options before school began. Stopped being a cheapo and paid the 3.99 for this ap. Great decision! I feel like a whole world of possibilities I didn’t know about are local!

I used this app and it didn’t have many options to find for vegans so I deleted it and a few days later I was charged $4.26!

Was excited about this app but now I’m finding it to be pretty mediocre. I could’ve found what they put on here with a simple google search. I’m from Orlando and there are a lot of vegan restaurants/options that didn’t show up when I searched happy cow. Like cmon ... Ethos vegan kitchen?? How do you forget that one.... Chipotle..... Blue moon pizza.... Mellow mushroom........... Loving vegan market....

I am a touring vegan musician and sometimes eating gets really tough on the road. Especially finding vegan things in states you aren’t familiar with. Happy Cow has made it easier for me countless times. Going to different states to eat is now fun!!!! Thank you Happy Cow for being so amazing. I don’t starve on the road anymore now I can fully nourish my body because of you!

This app is a great idea, and I’m glad that I got it. I find it slightly annoying that I have to create an email-tied account to leave a review. Why can’t I just leave an anonymous review, or at least create an account without using my email? Another problem: the distances in the app are often wrong, according to my maps app. Restaurants appear somewhat closer than they are. It’s not so awful, but it could use a fix.
