I discovered several rows were locked for some odd reason & would not scroll up when I scrolled the rest of the table up. I ended up having to copy just those rows, paste them into new rows, then deleting the “locked rows”............this resolved the problem, but: why did I have to do that in the first place?

  • Too much for nothing.

In their effort to create something for everyone, the developers at apple have created a truly hideous monstrosity. Date formatting the way they want, for starters.

  • Almost perfect

Numbers is a Very good spreadsheet program considering it is tablet based and is not Excel. Ocasionally, I come up against things that I can do in Excel, but not Numbers. And that's worth one star. Among other things, if Numbers had VBA type scripting available, then it would be perfect.
  • Almost perfect but...

Numbers is a wonderful program for spreadsheets. It just needs some small refinements to be as efficient or recognizable as Excel is. However, I love the more subtle design and use of spreadsheets inside Numbers. They kinda float and can have multiple tables in one spreadsheet. It’s a little shocking for the Excel users to not just have a stuck table to work in. I am enjoying switching over to this considering it’s a free program and MS Office is expensive and I would have to pay for it every year. Over and over again. Numbers is free and it works over the cloud. I’m going for it and learning how to use it now.

Really jacked up after last update. Files duplicate when opening after they tell you font doesn’t match. Then I wind up with a file on home desktop that is a .num file extension instead of .xls file.
  • New problem

November 4, 2018 The same problem with the date we saw last year after switching back to standard time from daylight savings. It’s inserting yesterday’s date. _______________________________________ July 22, 2017 A problem occurs when sending a copy of your spreadsheet as an Excel file. The Line Break feature used to use a Pilcrow symbol. This works fine. Now the Pilcrow symbol has been replaced with a Line Break symbol. This works fine as a Number file, but not at all as an Excel file. If I were to put this in a cell: 1 2 3 It will show up as this: 123 When sent as an Excel file. ————————————————— November 5, 2017 Found a new problem after the last iOS update. When using the Cell>Today’s Date feature, it is now inserting yesterday’s date. Now that I think about it, I noticed this after the switch from Daylight Saving Time to Standard Time. I hope this helps. ————————————————- November 6, 2017 The date problem was fixed. Thank you!

I’m coming from Google Sheets. This is way better for me. I have an iPhone SE and the scrolling, zooming, and data entry are night and day between the two. The toggles and the special keyboards for formulas, date/time, etc are indispensable, so much that I transitioned many of my most used Google Sheets to Numbers on macOS. It also helped that Numbers used way less memory and CPU on my old MacBook Pro than Sheets. Really appreciating the whole Apple ecosystem here.
