  • Why Washington post ruined my Saturday

    By nickname 1727
I absolutely adore the Washington post. I cannot live without it. Today, due to a snafu likely related to some great offer(??? Free weekday newspaper delivery since i’m such a great customer) you gave me, I cannot read my Washington post print edition or any articles in the Washington Post. And thank you Washington post there is nobody who can fix it on a Saturday afternoon. So, you have ruined my Saturday.
  • Where are the comments?

    By Bashh
I love to read the comments in the online version. Can't seem to find them here and it is real minus.
  • What is wrong!

    By KCon3260
For days I’ve been trapped in an endless loop of subscribe or sign in whenever I tap on a story.
  • Keeps logging me out

    By Mo479!
It kicks you out of the app to sign in on the web. Then you go back to the app and it still hounds you to get a subscription (have the full home delivery and digital subscription). In the settings, it shows as logged in. Tried reinstalling the app 5 times and working with WaPo tech over the phone and nothing works. They took a pretty good app and ruined it by releasing it to early. Had WaPo since the 60s but might be time to cancel the home delivery as well.
  • Ruined World Cup game

    By Aescmann
I SPECIFICALLY have sports updates turned off... and yet 10 minutes into watching the replay of the Croatia v England game after carefully avoiding updates all afternoon my phone lights up and from the lock screen tells me the result within seconds of it ending. What the actual fark Post. 2-stars. Your app is terrible.
  • Good paper, buggy app

    By JonRC
I'm a paying subscriber, but I keep getting automatically logged out. When I try to log back in I get one message indicating I've successfully logged in, then a second message saying "login error Authentication error" and I cannot access the paper until I delete and reinstall the app. So annoying, makes me want to cancel my subscription!
  • Great news source, lousy app

    By MiniMims8
No question, WaPo is my go-to news source for All Things DC. It's profoundly satisfying to read well researched, trustworthy journalism in a day of claimed witch hunts and fake news. So why does such a fine media outlet have such a crappy app? The navigation is awkward at best. Ads are often intrusive, disrupting reading. We subscribers get only partial versions of the print or browser-ready WaPo with the apps. Whole sections are missing, to say nothing of less popular articles. And there are no comments. WaPo comments are worth reading if only because some DC insider anonymously posts a news nugget from time to time. Many are thought provoking or witty or both. WaPo's app developers have been aware of these issues with the app for a long time-I mean years. The app developers always promise fixes but seldom do apps change. It's jarring that journalism of WaPo's quality is delivered with the faulty, user hostile classic black or blue app. It's outrageous that the app is unleashed in an unsuspecting world by WaPo publisher Jeff Bezos, the guy who practically invented seamless digital usability with his little ecommerce venture. Fix the problems, man. Deliver apps as good as the WaPo news reporting.
  • Some articles will not load

    By notreal#
Some Wash Post articles load fine but others simply hang instead of loading when you try to read them. No rhyme or reason to what will and what won’t load. Everything loads fine if you use a Web browser so it is not a content issue.

  • Best news app in the business

    By intldawn
I’m a journalist and I wish we could get it together enough to present an app even half as good as the WashPo. The accordion scrolling roughly simulates turning of pages, and I appreciate the white on black template, which makes it easier on my eyes. My only issue is that sometimes it can be challenging to find certain stories through the search function. Sometimes I’ll come across a story in social media but it won’t always show up in a search on the app. It’s odd and there’s doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason for it. But otherwise, I think WashPo sets the standard for what a news app should be and it’s the first thing I go to for news each day.
