Whatever algorithm is used to match people and the search function are really awful. But, that said, it’s a pretty friendly site.
  • The good & the bad

The good: I like that this feels like more than just a hook-up app (like certain other “dating” apps. I like that you’ve got the option to have a long bio. The bad: I feel like it’s a hassle to connect with anyone. The algorithm for who shows up in your stack is janky, and Even if you send a message to someone first, there’s no garuntee they’ll ever get it or know you exist. You could have someone who’s a 99.9% match, try & talk to them, and never hear anything due to you just not showing up in the feed.

I like this app a lot. Has the swipe and the questions and interactions. Great blend. And I get play... unlike tinder and the rest 😒
  • Horrible update

This new update is so confusing and stupid. It makes me want to delete the whole app.
  • Banned IP???

One of my photos was taken down because someone reported it. The only photo I had put up that might possibly offend someone was of me shooting targets with a shotgun. The next time I attempted to log on, I see my account is suspended. So I try making a new one.. and now my IP address is banned? Really?? I couldn’t be more disappointed in a service that doesn’t even contact me to explain they’re reasoning behind this. Very poor taste.. 👎🏻
  • It’s just bad, plus the paywall

Good luck guys really, messages and the other persons profile disappear when you send a message, they force you to “like” each other in order to talk. I understand the harassment side of it, but I liked being able to see what people sent me. They force you to either; like more people to see if they /may/ have messaged you, or (and this is the biggest problem yet) have to pay $19.99 to see who liked you so you can even see those messages. The 6 month version of the membership is “better” at $6.99 but I recall 1 month subscriptions to have been waaaay cheaper in the past and I’m not talking about it being on sale. OkCupid used to be great, it functioned super well, and their new layout is doing nothing but making it more like tinder, which is a bad thing. They do nothing about the bots, killed usernames, took away the ability to see all the messages you get (which is an important feature duhh), and upped the charge of you want to use that feature. I’m a simple guy, I don’t want to “like” every profile I come across just to see if I got a message from them. Dating is hard enough as it is and I only wish that they gave a crap about what the consumer thinks. Ever since the buy out it’s been nothing but paywalls. It’s a real shame. Plus they never give real feedback when you have a complaint or suggestion, they jut push it off into a “we’re sorry you’re having a difficult time, here’s a vague answer to soften the blow!”

God why did they have change the message system. I chose okcupid because it was different from Tinder and all other dating apps. Now it’s so confusing and hard to use.
  • Like the interface but...

So far I’ve enjoyed the way it matches but when you start messaging it doesn’t send off a notification sound and it only appears on notifications on the top of my iPhone. If your in the app you always have to back out to refresh the conversation
