  • Politics

I’ve written several messages previously and yet you all continue to push your politics in our face. Why is a dating site pushing planned parenthood? I pay for this service and I don’t need to see this garbage. We have politics thrown in our faces daily and we still have to see it here? Seriously. Please keep your views to yourselves. You provide a service for people to meet each other. That’s it! If we want to discuss politics or anything with someone we meet here let that be our choice. Regards
  • They Ruined a good thing- Visitors are gone

The new version removed"visitors" which ruins the app. You can no longer see who might be interested Okcupid also dropped the feature that tell you who "replies often" or doesn't reply often. It also limits the number of people you can like which is annoying Also you can't see your "sent mail" which is a glitch in the app. It no longer alerts you when someone bookmarks your profile, why would they drop that? Bad decision There is no "find a user" feature to find a user by name. Now the app wants people to put in their first names, also a bad idea. They also dropped the "winks" which were a good way of showing interest without having to write a full email Just really ruining the app by cutting features The removal of visitors might be the last straw though - if someone came out with a good free dating app, people would abandon OkCupid The site is also plagued by fake users, scammers and Cam-girls soliciting business. They all answer 15 questions then spam away. It used to be really good, not now

I have been on many expensive sites, and ok Cupid has minimal fake profiles, great match set ups, and I really like the honest questions I can answer! Hope to find my Cupid soon!

OK Cupid is a great site to find a person of interest! There are a good number of candidates to choose from. I just wish you would ask for a few more details from the candidates such as: -What type of relationship are you seeking? Friend, dating, long-term - Past: Divorced, Widower
  • Was 5 stars before the update

They recently rolled out an update where you message people and they don’t see it until they find you in the random face lotto. In an attempt to keep users who need to just be banned from harassing women, I now have dozens of messages that I have no way of accessing unless the planets happen to align. Edit: dev says their profile will show up more often after sending a message but I have 32 notifications and after swiping for half an hour only saw 4 messages, 2 of which I’d already seen.
  • Not like it used to be

A while back I used to use this app a lot then deleted it because I didn’t need it any more. Now I tried it again and read some of the updates and got back into it for a little and it has changed a lot and I haven’t even met one person who wanted to even chat with me. Every one doesn’t like straight decent hardworking guys any more apparently.
  • Can’t move passed the about section

Deleted and downloaded the app twice. Logged out and back in. Nada. I get put right back to the about box. After several attempts filling it in with text I hit done. BOOM! Nothing happens. I’m forever stuck at the “About” box. Online dating supposedly makes finding love simple and I can’t lie, I’m ready to be whisked away by my cyber soulmate. However, I’m here at 2 am stuck in limbo with the “About” box. Why OkCupid? I submitted a profile picture which featured my luxurious flowing locks. I entered in my email and birthdate. I even created a unique password just for you (puppylove22). Still I’m stuck stagnant with the “About” box. Surely this is not my romantic destiny? Myself alone for eternity with the “About” box as my only companion? I need you OkCupid. I need you to help me move past the “About” box. Help me see your true potential. I know you’re worth more than a one star review. I can feel it in my thumbs. I’ll be waiting for your reply at the “About” box.

I used OKC in the past and was impressed that it was very different from other apps in this category. I was surprised that many of the features have been 'streamlined/removed' to 'fix' issues. Now, "after positive beta testing", you cannot see profile visitors and the inbox for messages is pretty much non-existent. Your 'like' disappears once you send them a message and you cannot: 1. See them in your search list anymore (they are removed). 2. See the message that you've sent. They are literally non-existent to you after that point UNTIL they like you as well. Your message is not delivered to their inbox, they have to 'discover' your message by viewing your profile that is supposedly promoted in their list at some point...and this is supposedly constantly being improved based on a proprietary learning algorithm. Sound overcomplicated? Isn’t dating complicated enough? I was also shocked by the number of 'fake' profiles. In the past OKC was pretty good at detecting and removing fake profiles. Maybe the learning algorithm should has been enhanced in that direction. No point being an A List subscriber. Definitely not renewing. Update to developer response: Thank you for your response, but of course the new system has impacted abusive messaging because it severely impacts messaging as a whole. Taking away your phone would greatly decrease the number of accidental pocket dials you make, but now you have no phone. My point, maybe think of more creative ways to reach your goal of resolving an abused message system.

I couldn't get past the second page after uploading my pictures. It says "how would your friends describe you?" And at first I thought I wasn't writing enough or was writing too much but when I clicked "done" it never did anything.... tried restarting the app, downloading it again and nothing worked.
  • Terrible experience

I was signing up and excited to get started when I couldn’t get past the “About you” section. I kept hitting done, but nothing was happening. Terrible experience with this app I didn’t even get started yet.
