Meet your Google Assistant. Ask it questions. Tell it to do things. It’s your own personal Google, always ready to help. Find answers and get things done while on-the-go with the help of your Google Assistant. Remind yourself to stop by the store, pull up your travel photos to show a friend, or make a dinner reservation. With the Assistant app, you can: - Make quick phone calls (e.g. "Call Mom.") - Send text messages (e.g. "Text my bestie.") - Email your boss (e.g. "Here is the latest TPS report.") - Set reminders (e.g. "Remind me to buy a birthday gift for Sarah.") - Set calendar events (e.g. "Set a calendar event for dinner with Charlie tomorrow from 7-9.") - Play music (e.g. "Play jazz music on YouTube.") - Navigate places (e.g. "Get me directions home.") - Weather information (e.g. "Do I need an umbrella today?") *Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

  • Other than a lack of live support, it is the best, and almost perfect

    By whoisthat1guy
A recent update caused issues with Routines, which could not be addressed through live support because Google does not offer that for this service. However, after three weeks, the issue has been fixed with the most recent update (which does not acknowledge the bug), returning this to the best digital assistant on the market. If Apple allowed native integration (or even remapping of the power button to summon this app), I would never use Siri. Once an equivalent of Alexa’s Brief Mode has been added, it will be worth five stars.
  • Ok so far..

Finding this hard to navigate and it keeps misidentifying events or reservations that it thinks I’m participating in. I preferred the old assistant tab of the google app.

Downloaded it and it’s not on my phone
  • Ups&Downs

    By BtSlOvEr--MiNyOoNgI'SWife
I totally believe that Google assistant is way better than Siri personally because it isn't repetitive and has the best information that is not from Wikipedia👍. But also with this app you will get downs like how you can't really personalize. It has random crashes where it closes the app. << I had my phone checked and replaced but they said it was something wrong with the app not the phone since not other apps crashed.
  • Buttons don’t work

    By the zella
The app is good in all, but every single time I press a button, nothing happens. Deleted the app and go it back. Same problem. No of the buttons work for me and I’m sick of it. I’d like it so much better if it was fixed.
  • It’s just a waste of space

    By patpattah
This is just a waste of space on my phone. It’s so convoluted with unnecessary stuff.
  • Should be integrated into the google app

    By Aj
The google assistant itself is amazing, but not so amazing that it needs its own app. I think google should integrate it directly into the “google app” which would make both of them substancially more useful, often i just open the google app and ask it to do what i want there. Plus it would be benificial for google since substancially more people use that app, they would get exposure to its beautiful and effective ai and will be more inclined to buy the google home.
  • Instability

    By bluemagoo92
App crashes often, for example when changing order of actions in a custom routine. Changing the time of a scheduled routine is impossible currently. The app won’t let me press the ok button after setting the time.
  • Dictation Doesn’t Work

I use dictation frequently and it doesn’t work on this app.
  • Artificial Intelligence ?

    By Gnostman
We are far from thinking that because these "assistants" respond to certain things, that is artificial intelligence, nothing is further from reality. Intelligence is an attribute of wisdom and wisdom is something Divine and in a world where everything is intended to measure and fit into measurable parameters we can not yet speak of artificial intelligence, the problem is precisely in the Turin test. It was limited to the 5 senses or a little less but the human being is something more than that. Google does not stop but you must readjust the meaning of this assistant.
