  • Overall happy, some limitations

Google continues to add more channels, so the service is becoming a better value. Unfortunately, too often it times out when trying to stream after closing the app. Once it streams, it’s stable.
  • Almost there.

Definitely the best TV streaming service I’ve used. UI is great and I haven’t ran into any major glitches like other services. Scrolling needs attention on Apple TV through. It’s not smooth and it’s easy to jump over items if you don’t swipe carefully. I’m also hoping to see Comedy Central make it on here eventually.
  • Like it all except the DVR

Liked it all except when it comes the DVR. They advertise an unlimited DVR, but it is not a true DVR. The fact that YTTV replaces your recording with the “on-demand” version with forced viewed ads. We DVR shows from live TV so that we can skip the ads. We are paying for the YTTV service but then have to watch ads in our DVR recordings on top of that is where it not worth the savings. Thanks but no thanks YTTV.

The app works great. Solid HD picture and the ability to record is crucial. I cut the cord awhile back and this app is a good replacement for the price. The ability to precisely fast forward or rewind is a struggle and sometimes the thumbnail while rewinding isn’t in sync with where the cursor is on the screen.

Have used YouTube TV since it launched in my city! Have had no problems with the service! Google even went out of their way and sent me a free chromcast! Love sticking it to direct TV and Comcast with their outrageous prices and contracts! unlimited DVR and HD included for a great price! Keep up the great work Google!

Discovery Chanel en español, National geografic en español, series en español. Qué pasa. Los latinos son buenos clientes.
  • No actual DVR

Major networks block the DVR function and force you to watch on demand with stupid ads. Can get directv for the same price and watch DVR on the go. Was great until they did this especially when I pay for RED service not to see ads on the YouTube platform

5/19/18: This app & service has worked flawlessly for me so far. Far better than even streaming directly from any of the standalone apps in my experience. Great quality picture, no lag, DVR is easy to use, I like that you can customize your guide for which channels you’d like to see/remove & syncs up to the Apple TV app as well. The On Demand content worked nicely as well! There are commercials but it didn’t seem any different than watching the commercial version of Hulu plus the app kept track of where I was in a show so I could start watching on my MacBook & continue watching on my iPad with no issues. Worked great on my iPhone (at home & away), iPad, Apple TVs & 2 of our built-in Roku TVs. The only downside to the service I’ve found right now is no Food Network/Nickelodeon/Comedy Central but I wouldn’t be surprised if those channels eventually showed up. In the meantime, we can supplement with Philo. All in all, really enjoying Youtube TV. Please keep up the great work!
  • Works, but not for everyone.

If you don’t watch much TV, just want to monitor a few of the big networks, sure, give it a try. Buuuut....... If you’re a sports fan, don’t bother. If you’re watching a series regularly, be prepared for a little extra effort up front. Otherwise, it’s a step in the right direction, but fails to address fairly standard expectations of the type of mainstream cable watchers. May be a few years before YTTV is truly ready for mainstream viewers.

I had Hulu before and I hated the app as well as the way Hulu played ads even after I paid extra for no ads version, the user interface of Hulu is terrible. YouTube tv is a hundred times better and cheaper and is a great alternative! Once I realized I could buy the entire Seinfeld show on YouTube, it made sense to switch to YouTube tv and ditch Hulu.
