  • Best Budgeting System I’ve used

This is the best budgeting system I’ve ever used. It is perfect for folks on a variable income and is excellent at helping me save. It paid for itself in the first week. And now, after 3 months, my emergency fund is exactly where the “experts” say it should be. I recommend this app to absolutely anyone. 🙌🏼👏🏼👌🏼 I also really like the FREE webinars on the website.
  • Reluctantly loving it

I had the classic version. And loved it. Sure it took an hour (or more)of my time every week to manually put in transactions, but it was familiar. The classic app kept crashing. I pouted. But Being without YNAB was worse than new YNAB. I reluctantly switched and now I love it even more. Linked bank account = no more paper receipts piling up in my wallet/bags. On the go budget changes make the process smooth and always up to date. I got a better product and that hour (or more) back. So glad I upgraded!
  • A grim future

How is it this made it to production? This completely half-baked application has no feature parity with the original, costs money, and requires full-time internet access. How often are you entering bills while you don't have Internet? How often are you managing a budget without having internet? For me, that's all the time. Why would they wait years and years for a major update, and then take features out? I guess Jesse and the team have finally sold out. The writing was on the wall with the lacklustre and few updates, but now it's clear what they really want -- to throw a half-baked product in your face and expect you to pay forever. Cool. Edit: prices just went up to $85 a year lol
  • Be aware, major price hike

YNAB just increased its yearly price to $89. That’s a lot of cash. I was trialing it but this price hike has got me shopping around for other options. I also don’t like the fact that you can only see one month of numbers on the screen. It sort of feels like they are preventing you from planning ahead.

Price just went up. Still no option to save a pic of receipt and tag it to a charge Please!!!!!!!! Would be nice if we can take a picture of receipt and tag it to the transaction. Would be willing to pay for storage space
  • Great System, OK App

I love the YNAB system for budgeting. It truly can be life changing and it has definitely helped my wife and I be smarter about our finances. The App itself leaves a bit to be desired, both on the iPad and iPhone. For example, the app still does not support split screen on the iPad, despite a major upgrade / re-release being completed in the past few months. It also took them an incredibly long time to natively support the 12.9” iPad screen size natively — almost two full years after the device was first released. I fear the same thing is in store for the iPhone X — while almost every app I used had an update on day one or within a day or two, all the YNAB team has said is that they are “definitely working on it.” The phone was announced and Xcode updated almost two months ago. While these are not Earth-shattering issues, they do show a lack of attention to detail and care in their mobile apps. Neither of these things are particularly difficult to implement for most apps, and I would like to see them be quicker to adopt and adapt to new technologies. Even having one real, dyed in the wool Apple fanboy on the team would alleviate almost all of these little niggling concerns. Sorry to be so critical... again if you are looking for a budgeting system BUY YNAB! It’s worth every single penny...

Update2: Love the latest updates. Things keep getting better. Keep up the great work! YNAB rules! Update: The latest version of the mobile app is simply outstanding. It is so much closer to parity with the web based app. Absolutely love it. Nice work YNAB team! So glad to see you investing further in the product. I really like that I can do practically everything from any device now! Original review: I'm new to YNAB. I love the whole package. It sounds like some longer time users find the phone app to be limited, and it is but for my wife and I it is just fine. Gives us quick access to current budget and transactions which is all we need. Web app is good. I finally replaced Quicken and skipped Mint because of the new YNAB apps.

I’ve been looking for a user friendly app that allows my husband to see what our money status was without having to constantly ask me about it. Also, the ease of entering and/or matching transactions saves precious time! I’m still within the trial period, but will pay the subscription cost as it is well worth keeping my sanity! Wish I’d run across this one earlier!

They advertise connecting to your bank, which doesn’t work.

YNAB has moved to an overpriced subscription model. Update Nov. 14: They're jacking the price up even more.
